Hi! I'm Amy, Author of "BARING IT ALL" and Creator of Baring it All Together; The Not-so-Pink Breast Cancer Community

On December 30, 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a serial optimist, the cancer f*ckery (well, that is what it is!), challenged everything I thought I knew about myself and my mindset.

As an author, speaker and facilitator, I support women with breast cancer to feel more empowered about their emotional health and wellbeing.

Get Connected

Have you been searching for other women who’ve experienced the f*ckery and are keepin’ it real? Women who will love you for who you are and won’t judge you or your emotions? BIAT, the Not-so-Pink community is for you! After all, pink is pretty. Breast cancer is not! BIAT is more than support. It is community. It is connection. And it is facilitated by someone who has been through it herself.Β

An Inside Look

I believe in authenticity, transparency and vulnerability. These values are what led me to sharing my own breast cancer story. I believe that when we share our stories, we make an impact and are able to help others. There is nothing pretty about breast cancer, which is why to me, it’s complete f*ckery.

Work with me

I am committed to broadening the conversation around emotional wellbeing in women with breast cancer. With so much positivity thrown at us, it leaves little space for the harsh reality, that cancer sucks! This can be detrimental to women’s mental health. I will bring my magnetic personality and lived experience to your event/meeting and together, we will begin to make change happen.

Hello Gorgeous!

I’m Amy, and I’m so glad you’ve found yourself in my little corner of the Internet. Why? Because I am on a mission to change the conversations and narratives of how women β€œshould” feel and should β€œbe” when dealing with their own breast cancer f*ckery.

I’m a recovering serial optimist. My whole life, or as far back as I can remember, I was a bubble of positivity. Optimism was my jam. So much so, that I made a career of it, sharing practices such as Law of Attraction and Power or Positivity. There was no room in my life for those so-called β€œnegative emotions” like anger, rage, and envy.Β

Then came breast cancer, and it challenged everything I thought I knew about myself and my mindset. It wasn’t long before I found myself caught in the depths of shame over my so-called β€œnegative emotions”.

Cancer wasn’t a journey, it was complete f*ckery and I didn’t know what to do with my feelings. I figured out that I had to be 100% real with myself and others and allow my inner rage to come out and play.Β

I figured I couldn’t be the only one feeling this way, so I turned my mess into my message, through my memoir, “Baring It All.” From there, Baring It All Together or BIAT, was born. We are a community of women who’ve experienced breast cancer, who tell it like it is. Yes, strength, courage and positivity are important. But so are vulnerability, honesty and reality.

I don’t want one more woman to feel the shame and guilt I felt over my own emotions. Together, we can shift these narratives and make a difference.
