I was born on May 5, 1977, which means I am celebrating my 44th birthday! I have the utmost gratitude and respect for my mom, who pushed me into this world, weighing a whopping 9 lbs. 15oz and measuring 24 in. long (and she says she thinks they cheated me and I was actually bigger)!!!

I honestly can’t believe I’m sharing this photo! Hello, big ugly baby!!!

In my meditation this morning, I focused on gratitude for all of my life’s teachers. Following the meditation, I wrote this poem and a list of 44 things I’m grateful for.

Whether you’ve hurt me, helped me or healed me,
Thank you.

Whether we’ve just met or have known each other a lifetime,
Thank you.

Whether you know how grateful I am or not,
Thank you.

Whether you are presently a part of my life or have since left my path,
Thank you.

Today I am grateful for you, for the lessons you have taught me, the gifts you have given me, the ways you have guided me.

Today I am grateful for all my teachers…past, present and future.
Thank you.
